Project 1 (Step 6)

Step 6: Evaluate

1)For example: A question that I have is: Why should I use Flash?

I will introduce flash to the class and guide the audience through my accomplishments with Adobe Flash.
Making them learn what I am interested in doing involved sharing Ideas and knowledge about a specific program.
I am looking forward myself in learning new techniques with Flash because of the enormous amount of options available on this program.

I will look up tutorial on google and Youtube for more information.
Research will helping use Flash in the future exposing my self learning therefore teaching my peers what I have learned.

I will share my knowledge to my peers and my teachers in the future classes giving opportunities to everyone one who wants to learn more about it.

Flash will hopefully help me work with 3D animations.

Flash will make me work with my Statistic class where I am working on probability. In probability I am working on scatter plots, Flash will help me animate a scatter plot effectively making in interactive and captivating to an audience and my peers.

2) Twitter
A very useful program that enables me to microblog and get quick answers from my research.

My statistics Books
Includes graphs for explaining probability graphs.

Expert people includes web site visits:
Mr Bryant Stat, Math teacher.
Khan academy which is an online course which includes video recordings and sound recordings it is also categorized as a website.
Khan academy is a deeper way of understanding math it is a guided teaching. It gives the opportunity to practice what I am going to teach about probability.

Facebook of course will help me communicate my information.

I talked to my Math teacher and he will be communicating more sources on flash.

Atomic learning also helps me with my flash project because it provide basic learning and advises about the program. The assisting the instructor gives is very useful.

Links:
http://www.atomiclearning.com/k12/search
http://www.khanacademy.org/

3)Using Google I have started looking over a few sites:
http://www.khanacademy.org/search?page_search_query=probability
Immediately after I typed in probability in the search box it came up with 34 related videos.
Khan Academy is a useful website where the information is very accessible. Making it easy for the millions of students and teachers who use it.
Khan give me what I will choose to expose to the audience knowing there will be knowledge to acquire from this presentation.
Twitter and Facebook will also help me gather my info knowing I will stay updated with all the new information.
http://www.facebook.com/
http://twitter.com/

Going into probability I will be using graphs as the following:
Scatter plots and box plots
These are the two graphs
Boxplot:

Dotplot:
http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcThvVtDEUlK6Rxtw3c9YtavJuIUBbJxKPCQNimRMkhNAH04CmWCy-vhnaSdgw

In the process I will work on animating the graphs these graphs will give me the opportunity to have something to present on assisting my presentation. These graphs are examples or what I will be covering actually using flash.
Youtube will greatly help me with my presentation as it gives out information for both my statistics information and helping me work with Adobe Flash as well.

4)
1. Is the information in-depth enough for me? Or is it too superficial (simple)?
Does the information give you answers to your questions?
Does the information give you new ideas, or lead you to other sources?

Is the information given in the types of formats you need (maps, dates, graphics, etc.)?

1. The information is explained in simple words making it easy to understand.
Atomic learning gives a lot of different tutorials which should be watched progressively. The tutorials cover the beginning of flash which is mostly for beginners. As the tutorials go on you discover more and you get more familiar with the program.

Yes the flash tutorials broadens my knowledge.

I get all the answers I am looking for so these website give the correct information which isn’t really easy to locate but it helps and I keep learning new things when I surf through these sites.
And of course I have learned from these sources.

5)
Step 5: Synthesize

Presentation Outline/Script:

Relate it to Statistics

Show the equation/definition for Probability:

Probability theory is introduced in this unit. Experiments, outcomes, sample spaces, events, and conditional probability theory are covered. Probability Theory

My story:

How I started off with flash and How I really discovered it. We were in Statistics and we were supposed to animate these picture for project based pictures which contained statistical data. We were a few so we all imagined something like a helicopter flying by or godzilla coming out of the water in the bay infront of Dakar.

Discuss the uses of Adobe Flash:

The uses of Flash can vary. A lot can be done with it. Flash is known to be used in the visualization of the special effect but mostly animation. What is tough is focusing on learning skills. Many hours are needed to fully understand the basic option for animation. Even more are needed for the rest of effect and image editing.

Discuss how it helped me visualize the problem:

It helped me in a way that it made learning about statistics intertaining and fun to learn for the audience, my peers and myself.

Discuss the 7 effects I use d and learned about:

– Animating tween motions.
– Import to Stage, work with the layers.

– Key frames per second and orders.

– Actions on the frame.

– Tipe laps, motion/classic tweens.

– Importing scenes, adding sound video.

– Rendering Action Scripts.

Filter Bubble

Click Here for the link to the TED Talk by Eli Praiser

Eli Praiser is talking about how companies such as Google and Facebook filter the information we are being exposed to. Today “Filter bubble”, is what most of us are exposed to for example, Google and Facebook these constant changing online data base are majorly exposing us on a daily basis. These search engines and social networks are somehow manipulating people through networks. We do not pay attention to safety some privacy exist but not all information is filtered. Basically you see just what they want you to see. This is what Eli calls invisible algorithmic editing of the web.

Cyber bullying Article

I, personally am totally aware of risks online social networks bring. My worry about this delicate situation is that only adolescent are affected. By using these kinds of social networks makes adolescent extremely vulnerable to personal information. But exposing cyber bullying on MTV is a great way of exposing these kinds of people to what can actually happen when you post all kind of private information. I know as a fact that any text that you type online can be seen by anyone who wants to actually know something about you. For example if a company director wants to know more about one of his employee he just needs to look up his name on different online networks and discover a whole lot of information even pictures.

Google Docs Article reflection.

In my opinion multi-user collaboration is great, Internet options is all we need in a online, evolving world like ours. With all the google apps I use I haven’t have major problems and I still use them today. I always use Google for researching pictures, news updates and other things I need to know, like tips, famous names and other things. Google is really a trustful program and a lot of people rely on it today.
